Projects we’re working on to take this home off the grid.
- weatherizing all windows and doors
- stopped using heating and started utilizing our three fireplaces
- replacing our lighting with LEDs
- painting the house with zero VOC paint (photos)
- planting an organic garden (terraced to the natural landscape of the hillside backyard)
- putting a pump on our underground water well
- installing a greywater capture system and incorporating it into a tiered pond system
